February is canned food month, and to commemorate the occasion, Hunterdon County employees have decided to start a food drive, apropos seeing as how most donated food is canned.

Everything donated will be handed over to the Flemington Area Food Drive.

Any item you have the luxury of donating will be appreciated, however, certain items are in greater need, such as pancake mix, canned fruits, basic toiletries, sweet potatoes, and food store gift cards. Donations will be accepted up to February 21st.

If you do find yourself able to donate, it will help to know where to go to do so:

  • North Branch County Library (65 Halstead St, Clinton, NJ 08809)
  • Main Branch Library (314 NJ-12, Flemington, NJ 08822)
  • Hunterdon County Administration Building (71 Main Street, Flemington, NJ 08822)
  • Building #1 at the Route 12 Complex (314 NJ-12, Flemington, NJ 08822)

“Addressing hunger is important policy matter especially in light of rising food prices and the continual fallout from the pandemic and its disruption of global food supply chains. I am grateful for the staff for taking the initiative and organizing this important event.”, said County Commissioner Director Zach Rich
